Shadow Catch: Creative Team

We are the Shadow Catch Collective, a creative team of four composers, a theatre director/Japanese theatre specialist, a poet/librettist, and a music director. Back in early 2010 we came up with the crazy idea to collaborate on a chamber opera with an original libretto, modeled on the structure of Japanese noh theatre. Over a year later, and after hundreds of hours of meetings, planning, grant-writing, and creative work, we have not only a completed libretto, but four completed acts, an amazingly talented cast and ensemble, a noh workshop and a musical workshop of the work-in-progress under our belts, and a premiere date of December 2, 2011.
